Announcing the Winners of the WiM Africa Cannes Lions ERA Pass 2026

When we opened applications for the 2026 Women in Marketing (WiM) Africa Cannes Lions ERA Pass, we knew the bar would be high — but even we were taken aback by the response.

We received over five times the number of entries compared to last year, with submissions coming in from across the continent. The quality, thoughtfulness and ambition in each video was genuinely inspiring. It was a powerful reminder of just how much talent exists across Africa — and how important it is that more of it is seen on global stages like Cannes Lions.

Choosing this year’s cohort was not easy. The standard was exceptionally strong, and every entry brought something unique. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who took the time to apply — your stories, your honesty and your ambition are exactly why this initiative exists.

After a thorough review process, we’re delighted to announce the five women who will represent WiM Africa at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2026:

Siki Msuseni – Founder & Director, Amplified PR (South Africa)

Siki’s video stood out for its energy, clarity and strong sense of purpose. She communicated with confidence and authenticity, and what really impressed us was her clear commitment to sharing her Cannes experience through masterclasses — ensuring that the impact extends well beyond her own journey.

Hlengiwe Shakung – Digital Communications Manager, Tiko (South Africa)

Hlengiwe’s entry was heartfelt, thoughtful and deeply rooted in purpose. She articulated both her personal and professional “why” with clarity and sincerity, alongside a strong commitment to supporting others. It was clear that this opportunity would have meaning not just for her, but for the wider community around her.

Nengi Akinola – Head of Marketing, BetKing (KingMakers) (Nigeria)

Nengi stood out for her boldness and the important work she is doing within sports marketing — a space where women, particularly in Africa, remain underrepresented. Her ambition to grow in this field and bring others along with her speaks directly to the kind of leadership WiM Africa is proud to support.

Zinhle Zulu – Head: Brand & Sponsorship, African Bank (Nigeria)

Zinhle’s video was clear, well-structured and intentional. She demonstrated a strong understanding of how she would make the most of the Cannes experience, with a thoughtful approach to translating that into meaningful impact beyond the Festival.

Eniola Ogunmekan – Deputy Creative Director, Insight Publicis (Nigeria)

We’re delighted to welcome Eniola back into this year’s cohort. After being unable to attend last year, it felt only right to ensure she has the opportunity to experience Cannes this year. Her commitment to growth, leadership and sharing knowledge with others continues to reflect the spirit of WiM Africa.

We can’t wait to see these incredible women step onto the Croisette and into the global creative conversation this June.

To everyone who applied — thank you. This was one of the toughest selections we’ve had to make, and we truly hope to create even more opportunities in the future so that more women from our community can experience Cannes Lions.

Keep an eye on our newsletters and social channels for updates from the cohort and more opportunities to get involved.

See you in Cannes!
