WiM Africa Partners with the IAA on Africa Rising 4: Africa 2 The World

London, UK; Women in Marketing (WIM) CIC are please to announce the Women in Marketing Africa network, WiM Africa, partnership with the International Advertising Association (IAA) on Africa Rising 4 – an IAA Regional Leadership Conference on the 28th – 29th September 2021.

WiM Africa joins Brand Finance and CNN as strategic partners with the IAA on the 4th Africa Rising virtual event - the region’s most anticipated MarCom conference that brings together the very best in the industry over a 2-day period to deliberate on topics propelling the industry and find new ways to uplift the industry on the continent.

The theme of the virtual conference “Africa to the World”, is being spearheaded by the IAA on its global compass platform, showcasing the thought-leadership and insights across the continent and dial the significance of Brands as The Engine Of Economic Revival in Africa.

In this COVID-19 era, it is crucial that Business Leaders across the continent work in unison together with Governments to ensure a united voice that resonates across the globe.

It is about time that African Brands are recognized for their potential and spirit. It is time that African Brands start rubbing shoulders with other big giants through their success stories. By evaluating and valuing brands, we provide a body of research on what makes a brand strong and valuable.

The IAA is the world’s most influential network of marketing and marketing communications professionals. Established in 1938, the International Advertising Association is the only global association that represents all spheres of the marketing and marketing communications industry. For over eighty years the IAA has played a strong role in supporting key industry issues such as freedom of commercial speech, self-regulation, responsible advertising, education and professional development.

WiM Africa will be leading a panel of African female leaders in a discussion on the complexities and the beauty of leading as a woman in Africa – The Kaleidoscope of Women Leaders in Africa: The Magic vs The MBA. Examining the natural, almost magical elements women bring to the table verse the academic and learnt skills and techniques. The WiM Africa Panel Discussion line up is as follows:

  • Moderator: Robyn Curnow - Anchor & Host of CNN Newsroom with Robyn Curnow, CNN
  • Ifeoma Dozie - Director of Marketing and Communications, Sub-Saharan Africa, Mastercard
  • Edith Dankwa - Chairperson, Business & Financial Times
  • Eloine Barry – CEO, African Media Agency
  • Andrea Djan-Krofa – Director and Africa Ambassador, Women in Marketing (WiM) CIC

Andrea commented “WiM Africa are delighted to be partnering with the International Advertising Association (IAA) on this the 4th Africa Rising Leadership Conference.

In joining forces with the IAA - the most influential global network of marketing and communications professionals - on the Africa Rising Conference and beyond, we hope to amplify the importance of these disciplines in the positive portrayal of Africa and African brands to the world. In addition, showcase the diversity of great leadership, the wealth of creative talent the continent possesses, and the crucial role they play in solving some of the most pressing business and societal challenges the continent faces.

We look forward to working together to champion excellence and inspire the next generation of African leaders in this space.”
