2025: A Year in Review

As the year draws to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what Women in Marketing Africa has built and delivered in 2025. It’s been a year of progress, meaningful access, and conversations that move the industry forward.

None of this would have been possible without the support of you, the WiM Africa community ,and our partners. Thank you for backing the work, and the women behind it.

Real Talk Debates

In 2025, we launched the WiM Africa Real Talk Debates in Accra and Johannesburg, in partnership with Kantar. These sessions created space for honest, unfiltered conversations about power, representation, and progress in Africa’s marketing sector. Rooted in lived experience rather than polished soundbites, the debates reflected the realities many professionals navigate every day. The series will continue through 2026.

 

 

 

 

WiM Africa at Cannes Lions

At Cannes Lions, WiM Africa partnered with AfriCANNES (My Runway Group) and Converge at Cannes to host two focused and timely conversations. Future Reframed explored why investing in African and underrepresented talent—through leadership pipelines, access to capital, and development—is a strategic growth imperative, not a PR exercise. Beyond the Optics challenged brands to move past surface-level inclusion and embed equity into brand building, from the brief to the boardroom.

 

 

 

 

Cannes Lions ERA Programme

Through the WiM Africa Cannes Lions ERA Programme, we supported a group of talented young African women to attend Cannes Lions and experience the global industry first-hand. For many, it was a powerful shift from aspiration to access. We look forward to building on this in 2026, opening the door to even more marketers and creatives from across the continent.

 

 

Nedbank IMC Marketing Conference Partnership

Our partnership on the IMC Marketing Conference in September marked an important step in strengthening WiM Africa’s presence in senior industry spaces. Collaborating at this level reinforced our role as a credible convener and contributor to meaningful, inclusive dialogue within the marketing profession.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Global WiM Awards – African Representation

African representation at the Global WiM Awards was significant this year. Recognition is never just symbolic—it signals whose work is valued and whose leadership is seen. In 2025, we helped ensure African excellence was part of the Global WiM Awards story.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Taken together, these moments—just some of WiM Africa’s progress in 2025—reflect a year of steady, intentional growth rooted in purpose. Thank you for being part of a community that continues to show up, challenge norms, and raise the bar for what marketing leadership looks like across Africa.

We’re looking ahead to 2026 with energy, focus, and a clear sense of what’s still to be built.
